Dear Internet,

I am co-curating an art show in a lovely Leslieville gallery.
It will be in Late March through part of April.
I am looking for submissions with Humour as a theme.
This is super broad as anything except terrible things and bad jokes can be made funny. This is easily accomplished by titling or context. You can even be making fun of how serious you are.
The deadline for submissions is February 15th but the sooner the better for me. We have a lot of stuff to sort through and if it can be and ongoing process it makes it a lot less stressful.
Please contact me if you are interested!
Also, please send along the message to anyone you can think of.
So far we have some really great stuff but the more to choose from the better it will be!

These are very much not done. They are a part of a thing I'm doing with a great artist named Brett Hunter, from Illinois. He mailed me awesome drawings that I am currently mangling with colour and ink, and I sent him these to impose his will upon. I think this whole process is super fun, even if nothing that awesome comes of it.

Some of the Work I did in May 2007

I quit my job and moved to New Brunswick for the month of May 2007. In that time I did 15 paintings that looked something like these. It was remarkably easy to be productive while staying at Nicole Legault's studio, as it was situated between the ocean and the forest.

While making these I was considering place a lot (obviously?). That month in Moncton really made me feel some things I hadn't expected to. Mostly, that the 17 years I had previously spent in NB were somehow trumped by only a few in Toronto. Moncton really wasn't my home in any respect anymore.

I mostly like these paintings now because it was the beginning of me being OK with listing Looney Tunes as a major influence of mine.
